It was about 6 years or so ago when I 1st came across the word, REMNANTS, while I was working at Laura Ashley – cloth remnants, it was in that context that I knew of this very “nice-to-pronounce” word. Yesterday, I saw a packet of assorted bread remnants, selling at $1. Lately, I am in mood of reminiscing…about what? About remanants, of course…

“Uncle, Coke 1 bottle! The Coke bottle that was delivered to you will most probably be in glass bottle…”

This photo was taken at Pulau Ubin. The independent shophouse that you see here are the authentic zinc roofed kind. Like the good old times, the photo depicts a kopitiam at the 1st level and perhaps, a living quarter on the 2nd.
These days, the kopitiam has been pretty much modernised. But here, you will get to have a taste on the 60’s ambience – non-properly litted kopitiams with a few food selection and probably the uncle or auntie you knew from around the corner of your house.
During this time, I am very sure the Coke that was delivered to you came in glass bottle! Don’t believe me, ask your parents!
